Shrewsbury Food Hub has been selected as a finalist in the environmental category of BBC Radio Shropshire’s Make a Difference Awards.
The awards celebrate ‘everyday heroes’ who contribute to their local communities. The Hub was nominated by Jenny who heads up the Shropshire Good Food Partnership for making where we live more environmentally friendly.
Reaching the final is a huge deal as the hub was up against lots of nominations.
The BBC’s Rose Aston and Genevieve Tudor paid a visit to the depot this week (16 August) to meet volunteers and find out more about our work to save surplus food from the bin and redistribute it to people who can use it #TasteNotWaste.
We will find out if we have won the award at an award ceremony at The Anstice in Madeley on 16 September.
Let’s keep our fingers and crossed!
